every group ever is like that. LOL
That's kinda the point...then the one dude/girl who can sing goes solo. The others are typcailly background singers or play instruments, good dancers, or eye candy.
I think coming in as a group gave you a better chance to succeed back then.
yeah the lead always goes solo but in modern R&B, it NEVER works out (except for Beyonce)
back in the day, Teddy P left the Blue Notes and blew up
Lionel Ritchie left the Commodores and blew up
Chaka Khan left Rufus and blew up
MJ told his whole family to fukk off and blew up something serious
Curtis Mayfield left the Impressions and blew up
y'all get the picture
but in the 90s you had groups like En Vogue and all of them batches could sing and they all flopped when they it was time to go solo
