Revisionist history would have you think Rod Thorn is an idiot for what he said about Michael Jordan. Who knew that c00n dancing with that umbrella on the cover of SI would end up being the best player ever?

:dead: Also I remember reading that on the low, Thorn was looking to trade MJ for David Robinson during the 1987. I'm not sure if it was really that serious, but I remember reading that he was looking into it, but declined it. D-Rob was supposed to be a more athletic and even a better Bill Russell type of player coming out of the draft.

Sam is one of my personal favorite players..biggest weedhead during game player..just had to have been...but I must say, perkins and jordan probably diminished each others value in the draft..which turned out to be okay for perkins cause he wasnt a bad pro but wasnt great..and killed portland, causing them to probably lean more towards another big instead of potentially duplicating drexler.

At that time though Perkins did fit into what Dallas was trying to do building that team out West with Aguirre, Rolando Blackmon, Tarpley, etc. But if Dallas would've had Barkley, Mark Aguirre and Rolando Blackmon they definitely beat LA in 1988 instead of taking them to 7 games
