A Los Angeles Times reporter released his apology on X, formerly Twitter, two days after LSU coach Kim Mulkey decried the column as sexist.

Everyone's harping on what he said about LSU, but I think what he said about Iowa was even worse. Caitlin Clark does not have a "sweetheart" attitude or try to play the "good girl" in any sense whatsoever. For him to label her that could ONLY come from her being a white girl on a mostly white squad playing against a group that's seen as a "Black" squad. You can say "I don't like LSU's attitude" and have plausible deniability, but no one can call Clark a sweetheart without their bullshyt being obvious.
