Ok. I always assumed that hurricanes lose their intensity once they go over the mainland U.S and only the coastal cities get hit hard. I remember Ida hit NYC and it was just a lot of rain and flooding, no crazy strong winds or anything like that when it got here.


Since you're a New Orleans breh I'll take your word for it since yall are more familiar with these types of storms than a NY breh like myself. Only legit hurricane to hit NYC was Sandy back in 2012. I live in the Tampa area now I'll likely be experiencing Helene later this week :lupe:

They do lose the intensity but there’s still the risk of flooding power outages
