What do you do?

i hold parking for tv shows/movies/commercials/photoshoots

me and my crew throw out cones wherever they plannin on filming at, we got tow trucks that come thru, and we make sure all is clear before the cast and crew come thru and do what they gotta do

ive been doing this for 6 years now and ive been to every borough in the city and worked everywhere front to back. i know this city like the back of my hand man and ive personally dealt with a lot of crazy people. Just imagine telling a new yorker who cant find anywhere to park his car, that he cant park on his block or his shyt would get towed just so a film crew can they do thing...shyt gets ugly sometimes man

"We broke up in a Starbucks. A week later, I walked by and the place had been completely bulldozed to the ground. I always thought that was the Universe doing me a favor."

"How long have you known each other?"
“Carter Administration. You do the math.”

"At this time in my life, there’s nothing I really value more than interaction with my children, and they’ve just grown so busy that there’s not much of it. All I can really do is trust that they care, even if they don’t communicate it, and reflect on all the times that I didn’t reply to my mother when she sent me things."

its nypd, and they work for us. for instance when the tow trucks come thru, me or whoever else is in charge gives them a map and tell them whats important and whats not. and then its up to us when to sign them out...and honestly a lot of these tow trucks dudes is lazy as fukk but thats another story

the job is chill tho, most of my co workers are people from my hood and that i grew up with. all we do is smoke, watch tv, go home for a couple hours, smoke, eat, smoke, hit up a bar, watch movies, be on the internet (im always on the coli), and smoke

the only times we really "work" is when we arrive at the location to throw out cones...then later on in the day we fix them to make em look neat...then we the film trucks get there we stack everything up and bounce...literally thats the job :manny:

"Do you mind if I take your photograph? I run a popular website called…"
"I don’t give a damn!"

"The army stationed me down South when I was younger, and I couldn’t even use the same bathroom as white people. But things have changed so much. The younger generation isn’t nearly as racist. I’ve been sitting here for fifty years. So much has changed. This neighborhood used to be all black. A white person couldn’t even walk down this street. All the races kept to themselves. Now you’ve got Indians talking to Pakistanis, blacks talking to whites, everybody is here and learning from each other’s cultures. I’ve been sitting here for 50 years. Things are getting better."

"My happiest moments probably involve anything that invokes childhood."
"Can you give me an example?"
"My cab driver and I missed a turn yesterday because we were swapping pictures of our cats."

"I’ve climbed over 100 mountains. For some reason, I just like to get on top of things."
"Why do you think that is?"
"I think it’s because climbing forces me to rely on myself. In the city, anything I need is a phone call away. When I’m climbing, I’ve got to figure it out on my own."

"I'm not too emotional of a guy. People say I have a good heart, but they're wrong. I have principles. The heart is a fickle thing. There's no way I can love everybody. So I'm not even going to try. But I can respect everyone whether I love them or not. And that I try to do."

:ehh: I like this guys POV.

Life experience tells me people who say they love everybody is just doing lip service.

And even in that case, somebody who 'loves everybody' if he tells me he loves me does nothing to tell me he loves me as a person. Because a compliment given freely can never be a special compliment.
