Normally I have to approach people for quotes. But this kid walked right up to me, held his certificate in the air, and screamed: “I played at Carnegie Hall!”
"I work so many hours at the factory. I need to find a way for my daughter to live a better life than me."
“How do you do that?”
“I’m not sure. No time to think about that.”
"In the Dominican Republic, life is lived much more outside. When I came home from work, my friends would be drinking outside on my block, and we’d play basketball in the street. Here, life is lived much more inside. I go from my work to my apartment. I feel like I’m in a cage."
“So why are you here?”
“My American Dream? I want to make a Spanish language film.”
"It’s Chopin."
"Why Chopin?"
"My whole arm is covered with things that remind me of Poland."
For some reason, I'd like to be one of those random people he (or another person in another city) randomly walks up to and has a convo/take pics with.....
"I have a special needs child in 5th grade. Things have been OK so far, but I’m afraid that once he goes to middle school, there will be things that I can’t protect him from."
"The first cowboys were black. ‘Cowboy’ was a derogatory term used to describe slaves that tended to the cows and horses."
"All I do is drink, smoke, and dance."
"I just got out of prison. I was there 37 years."
“What’d you do?”
“Something I shouldn’t have done.”
“What was that?”
“Someone pushed me. So I killed him.”
Seen in the subway.
Another thing. You never know what someone is going through. That's why I never disrespect anyone.
Dude on instagram who walks the streets of NYC and snaps pics of random New Yorkers and has a conversation with them.

Beautiful. When I lived in a bigger city. I would go downtown and just walk around and watch people.
Life is beautiful if you leave the house
"I’ve been off cocaine for about 4 months now."
"What changed that allowed you to quit?"
"My parents stepped in and started randomly drug testing me."
"Did you resent them at the time?"
"No. I only resented that they had to do it for me, because I couldn’t do it myself."
"In Korea, the culture is much more centered around doing what you’re told. Here, everyone wants to argue and discuss and figure things out together. But there’s a lot of pressure that comes with having that much freedom to make your own decisions."
Seen on Broadway.
"I can’t stop and talk. I have one more to pick up."
"All the women in Pakistan are very covered up. I came to America for the first time on September 4th, so it was still very warm outside. I stepped into the terminal at JFK, took a look around, and said: ‘Oh. My. God.’"
