United States? Nah...if Hogan was that huge still, they would of sold out that huge TX arena recently but they didn't. I don't even think they sold 1/3 of that spot and it holds what? 50 or 60k Rock is selling out 80k shows..his name in marketing does 51k ticket sales in one day and his movie success which issues out #1 or #2 movies all the time is without peer in wrestling history. In the 80s and 90s, he was bigger. In 2000, Rock had reached a point of fame that no one in pro wrestling would ever touch in any shape, form, or fashion and then he became successful in Hollywood ..dropping#1 or 2 movies opening by the year? Hogan never crossed that gate of success and never reached that sort of fame. There is no sane way you could attest that anyone in the TNA company is anywhere near the Rock's name in fame in 2013. That's about as ridiculous as it gets. People don't even know Hogan is still in the wrestling business these days because they've never heard of TNA...especially those causals who see Rock's flicks.

Anyone who born before 1998 knows who the Rock is too:laugh: LOL@thinking the Rock is just another name...Hogan and Rock are the only real household names in pro wrestling with maybe Macho Man and Andre being next but you're a crack addict if you think the Rock isn't known by all ages in 2013. He was leader of a boom period and is Hollywood fame puts him on a level no one from wrestling ever really reached and definitely never will. Some cats around here are just PG era fans though..they didn't even know of the Rock/Blandy confrontation from 2004:laugh:

There's name recognition and name value, if it's the former then maybe Hogan has it but the latter is Rock hands down. More people may know the name Hulk Hogan because of it's history but it's one of those 'hey remember that guy' things, he's not as culturally relevant as Rock.

:mj: had people screaming, crying and fainting. CNN ain't gonna shut down when Hulktales Hogan buys the farm. And every major network in the world ain't gonna show Hulktales' funeral either like they did with :mj:.

In one arena? LOL and after a 10 year absence? Like the week to week stuff didn't happen? And then when they went with Hogan afterwards and Rock was gone, how was those buyrates and who was used as the buffer for the Rock/Lesnar match? Hmmm...makes you think, huh?

Nah....no one has reached the fame level in pro wrestling that the Rock has. Goes on other shows and increases ratings..Hogan, Sting, Macho Man, Austin..no one ever did that. Guy came back from 7 years and did records....guy upped 3 hour boring Raw shows to close to 6 million an hour in viewership. He effects other media and everything he touches....everyone knows Jordan/Ali/the Rock. There's not enough Manny smilies in existence that can change that reality in 2013.

And what money did all of those ovations draw in the end? LOL. Nowhere near what the Rock did in 2002, which is why he was put in the main spot at Summerslam 02 and the plan was to use Austin and Hogan as buffers for Lesnar of all people. Keep forgetting that part...why didn't those Angle and HHH matches do big business nor are talked about till this day? During Hogan's return, you only know of 3 matches by heart..the Rock match, the Hollywood Rock match, and the match with Vince. People just laugh at the Michaels fiasco and the Blandy thing the year after was only talked about because DX was jealous they got outpopped by him.

Interesting..the most "famous pro wrestler of all time" can't get a 1.0 during WM week, eh? Odd. And keep in mind that whenever Hulk Hogan mentions in interviews, it's mostly to do about the Rock's return and his effect on the industry:laugh: He doesn't talk about TNA for shyt but Rock not "putting over" Cena? He was easy to find on that subject. That's the Rock's fame level for you. I think the Rock has only talked about Roode, Sting, and definitely talked to Mickie when he came back on the TNA flip.

She actually didn't say he was more famous than MJ, she suggested he was one of the very few who might be more famous.
