Real world were regular people and survivor was a game show. The playboy show made Kendra a star and got her a show. Real question is that the first time that happened? I think it might be if I remember correct

i'm sure his show was successful, but i think if someone were to make a list of the reality shows that affected the mass amount on our tvs today it'd pre-date his show. and yes, competition shows can be considered reality shows.
