My job contracts with the State Department and that Bureau is probably unessential.

The conspiracy theorist in me says it's a predesigned plan to implode the economy. The underlying fundamentals of our economy have made no sense for the last 5 years, and complete failure is a mathematical certainty. A government shutdown just gives the money masters an excuse to blame the upcoming collapse upon.
