Self impose deadlines
Came in to say this.

If you got a report you gotta do for work, set up a meeting to present the findings. That way, you know you gotta finish it before then or risk looking bad in front of co-workers and bosses.

I did that this week actually, and it worked well :ehh:

As someone who procrastinates, I worked on my project due sat tonight and I’m mostly done so I can wrap up later or in between time tomorrow. Work in between time

1. Social Media/ Vices/ Detox (Think Ig is the main culprit nowadays, Partying/drinking too much. Anything that can fall under Escapism)
2. Make a to-do list (with small obtainable goals first that build up to harder tasks)
3. Realize nothing can be perfect (Better to have something done, than not at all sometimes. A lot of procrastination comes from waiting till everything is "right")
4. Workout Routinely ( Not only makes you feel good, and is good for you but definitely will motivate you to to be more proactive elsewhere in your life)
5. Do your hardest task first thing in the morning if possible. Longer you wait, the more excuses you'll tell yourself to put it off

Those definitely helped me, easier said than done to implement, but procrastination is def a real thing and can def hold you back in life if it's not checked

This may sound crazy but make your bed every morning

It’s the first task of the day and it gives a sense of accomplishment that will lead to you wanting to be efficient and do more ...it gets the ball rolling

also do all the little things ...like when you eat and dirty the dishes don’t just place them in the sink wash them right away -the little things like this if you do consistently will build better habits and makes your mind to be efficient and get things done ...I’ve been doing it for the last month or so and it’s been a game changer for me

Also get a white board and write down all your “to-dos” and erase them once completed ...if you can visualize accomplishments it also helps you be more efficient

Lastly time block - set times like 9-10 am emails -10-12 research 12-3 work -3-5 do follow ups cause of you don’t structure your work you’ll be all over the place

It's a matter of thinking about where you are and where you want to be. I have a lot on my plate, starting a business and devoting much of time to its development, so it's easy for me to become overwhelmed and just retreat into a distraction - videogames, movies, sleeping - that puts off the time and energy necessary for me to realize my goals. You just have to take that leap. Once you do, it becomes a lot easier, almost routine, to the point you'll be stunned by how much you've accomplished in just a month.

For example, I wanted to bolster the followers on my company's Instagram. At first, I sought help from these Instagram services who supposedly generate likes by taking over your account and engaging with others. I spent $100 a month for four months, with results that were anything but fruitful, getting maybe 150 new followers over that time span. One service I used was Kicksta. I wouldn't recommend it. I think it's a scam, personally.

I realized that organic growth on Instagram comes by way of organic outreach by the account holder, which meant that I needed to actively engage with the community and fashion an identity for my brand that they could relate to. What I did was start scouring Tumblr for images that complemented the identity and mission my partners and I envisioned for our brand.

So, every day, I spend 2 hours just scrolling through hundreds of Tumblr images, saving those that I think will connect with visitors and convince them to follow us and our clothing releases. Since January, I've gone from just 500 followers to over 5,000. I'm getting close to 100 followers a day now. And, I know that the only way to sustain that growth is to not procrastinate and to continue my ritual of poring over hundreds of Tumblr accounts for that one daily image.

Ive always read that you have get to the root of what makes you procrastinate in the first place. If it’s something that happens sparingly then you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. If it takes over your life it could be some deep anxiety about something, like a fear of failure, etc.

I write my goals, thoughts, plans, and ideas down.

I read thru em most nights at work. Tracking progress, making adjustments etc.

I feel like that keeps me moving. Its a constant reminder of the task at hand.

It gets to a stage when you have to. You'll look around one day and think wtf am I doing with my life and that will be the rocket up your ass:dame: that you need.

Also gym and keeping fit helps. Good for the mind and the body.

Also this whole quarantine/corona/riots isnt helpful for those trying to go out there and grind right now.

Hell
I’m trying the 30 day challenge, 1 hour a day of family guy, 30 minutes a day of social media and the rest of the day, working and being in silence. Going for a walk also or working out.

I spread my bed and fix up my apartment every morning, I feel better with a clean and organized place.
