For example, I wanted to bolster the followers on my company's Instagram. At first, I sought help from these Instagram services who supposedly generate likes by taking over your account and engaging with others. I spent $100 a month for four months, with results that were anything but fruitful, getting maybe 150 new followers over that time span. One service I used was Kicksta. I wouldn't recommend it. I think it's a scam, personally.
I realized that organic growth on Instagram comes by way of organic outreach by the account holder, which meant that I needed to actively engage with the community and fashion an identity for my brand that they could relate to. What I did was start scouring Tumblr for images that complemented the identity and mission my partners and I envisioned for our brand.
So, every day, I spend 2 hours just scrolling through hundreds of Tumblr images, saving those that I think will connect with visitors and convince them to follow us and our clothing releases. Since January, I've gone from just 500 followers to over 5,000. I'm getting close to 100 followers a day now. And, I know that the only way to sustain that growth is to not procrastinate and to continue my ritual of poring over hundreds of Tumblr accounts for that one daily image.
