How would you have booked Bret Hart’s debut in WCW?

Bret was higher on the food chain in the WWF than Razor & Diesel but a great angle and booking made them even bigger stars in WCW. If they did the same with Bret, I see no reason why he couldn’t have been a much bigger star in WCW than he was. Outside of the Goldberg feud, everything he did there was pretty unremarkable or memorable. Nearly every idea in here would’ve been a better use of him than what they did with him
Exactly. All that big fish small pond stuff is completely irrelevant.

bret really wasnt higher on the WWF feud chain than them. in the wwf, razor got bigger pops & diesel was a bigger draw. both were way more interesting, cooler and better talkers as well.

and they translated to the WCW audience better.
the outsiders NWO invasion wouldnt be nearly as big if you replaced hall & nash with bret hart.

For one i watched both WCW and WWF so you can't tell me bout what i did or didn't watch in real time. Cause of the screwjob and McMahon turning into a heel character is a HUGE reason WWF got as big as they did so don't downplay it like it wasn't a big deal back then. When Bret first debuted he was not getting shyt reactions, only after the bullshyt booking and bringing him in as a ref did that happen.

you clearly werent watching hard enough and not cognizant.

im not gonna go back-n-forth about the WCW crowd reactions. i keep telling yall to pull up the tapes. nobody wants to do that tho. cuz like scott hall said, bret hart simply wasnt over in WCW.

the WWF's resurgance came from the rise of austin, the mike tyson storyline, and the eventual rise of the rock, along with a strong supporting cast of fresh/interesting characters. the montreal screwjob didnt do anything for them.

all these people pump-faking about being WCW fans in here, but theres rarely ever any deep threads about WCW on this board. its about 10 people here that really know their WCW chit and none of them are up here in agreement with the idea that WCW dropped the ball on bret.

U not going back and forth but you bring up a how old post? If you think the Screwjob didn't play a huge part in making McMahon the biggest villain which in turn gave Austin a foil then so be it.

you up here repeating talking points from WWE documentaries now.

and you act as if the boss becoming the villain was such an original idea. especially for a guy who supposedly watched WCW so much.

so are you gonna pull up the tapes or what??

Nah bruh never seen to many docs. Why would i have to when i was watching wrestling regularly. Since this seems to be an issue for YOU then you pull up whatever tapes to satisfy whatever point you have to prove. And who said it was an OG idea but it was the spark that created the flame. fukk what you talking bout.

youre regurgitating the talking points of WWE docs, specifically the ones where theyre pushing agendas and could easily be dis-proven, such as "it was the spark that created the flame". you do realize that they were just riding off of heel bischoff, plus the austin/vince stuff had already started before that. hell that wasnt even the first time they had vince pull some funny chit on bret.

and like i said; you may have been watching but you werent cognizant of the smark side of things at the time. and i noticed you conveniently ignored that part. sure, you prolly checked in on nitro and saw bret, but you prolly werent paying attention to how the crowd reacted or lack thereof, among other things.

and im telling you to pull up the tapes for your own viewing instead of arguing me down with your denial. the proof is in the pudding. besides, its easier to just hit a few clicks rather than going back-n-forth, right???:sas1:

He does that in every subforum. Whatever form of entertainment (wrestling, rap, sports) he disagrees with you about, he was watching or listening to it and you weren’t lol.
