Fresh off the Montreal screwjob. WCW made him a guest referee. :snoop:

I’m sure TSC could’ve done better.

-Bret Hart walks to the ring and does basic enthusiastic welcoming interview with Gene Okerlund.

-Gene asks him about the NWO. Hitman just says he’s here to compete with the best wrestlers and isn’t taking sides.

:NWO theme music comes on:

-Hoegan, Hall and Nash come to the ring and ask him to join the NWO. Hitman says he just got there today and needs some time to think about it.

Hoegan: I KNOW ABOUT THAT GREAT BIG ORGANIZATION UP NORTH BROTHER! I SAW WHAT THEY DID TO YOU. WCW IS OLD NEWS JUST LIKE THEY ARE. WHAT’S IT GONNA BE BROTHER? WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON? ARE YOU NWO 4 LIFE?

Hitman: I might have a problem with your little “clique” here (looking at Hall and Nash).

Nash: I say let the past be the past, my friend.

Hall: Listen to the big mang. What happened up north... stays up north, chico.

Hitman: Yeah well I don’t trust either of you. I need some time to think. I just got here yesterday.

Hoegan: LET’S GO. GIVE HIM SOME TIME. HE’S NOT READY FOR THE MAIN EVENT BROTHER! HE NEVER WAS.

Hitman: Excuse me? I’ve been ready. I always was. You just wouldn’t get out of the damn way and pass the torch!

Hoegan: YOU WEREN’T READY TO CARRY THE TORCH! YOU COULD NEVER SHINE MY BOOTS BROTHER!

Hitman: You were always jealous of me old man. You may have your Hollywood movies and your 24 inch pythons, but you’ll damn sure never be the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be.

Hoegan: DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH BROTHER! WHEN I FIRST MET YOU I WAS SELLING OUT ARENAS YOU WERE CARRYING DYNAMITE KID’S BAGS TO JACK! YOU WERE NEVER AN ICON.

Hitman: I ran your ass out of there just like I did your two buddies here. And I’ll run you out of here too. Maybe they can go back up north and do a playgirl shoot with their boytoy—-

-Hall steals off on him. Hall, Nash, and Hogan start beating up Hitman. The rest of the NWO runs down. Sting comes down with the bat and he Hart clear out the ring. Sting puts either Hall and Nash in the scorpion deathlock at the same time Hitman puts Hoegan in the sharpshooter facing each other.

-They let go and stare each other down. Sting does the toss the bat and turn your back challenge.

Hart, Sting, Goldberg, DDP and maybe Booker T or Benoit join forces and feud with the NWO til they win and it breaks up and is phased out.

That’s the best I could come up with. :manny:

This takes into consideration that Sting went over clean at Starrcade and ended the NWO shyt:

Have Bret come in saying he never lost the title and have a slow build towards Sting vs Bret, as a face vs face dream match, and turn whichever the crowd is pushing into that role more. In the mean time, both Sting/Bret have matches with the Benoit/Eddie/Dean/Jericho/Booker/Saturn tier that elevate them. Since there is no NWO in this scenario, Bret stays way the fukk away from Hogan unless it's to go over Hogan clean in the build up to Bret/Sting.

But this also doesn't take Goldberg's rise into consideration. DDP could still have the same feud with Hogan (more or less), I'd probably plug Macho in there for some kind of triangle deal not dissimilar to some of the early Nitro stuff with Hogan/Sting/Macho/Lex.

I definitely would not have had him rerunning WWF matches. Maybe with Flair, but not Perfect or fukking Crush.

Imagine putting Bret Hart as the #1 or 2 guy in the company going up against WWF about to have their best year ever creatively. Imagine the millions of casual fans switching to watch Bret Hart instead of Austin/Rock/DX/Taker/Kane.

Waiting til January to bring him in and starting with the Flair feud would be a good intro imo.

My scenario has bret away from goldberg who would be top draw

For starters don't involve him in any Bischoff related nonsense at Starrcade, actually don't even announce that he's going to be appearing at Starrcade.

  • During the main event when Sting has the upper hand and it looks like he's about to win you have another NWO run-in. Either they distract the ref and try to interfere or you have a ref bump beforehand. Either way, everyone in attendance boos and everyone at home sighs and rolls their eyes.
  • NWO guys gang up on Sting, he puts a couple of them down but their sheer numbers subdue him.
  • As it starts to look like all hope is lost and Hogan and the NWO are going to get away with this shyt for the 1000th time that's when Bret runs out with a black baseball bat and he starts swinging for the fences and he clears the ring. He just pounds these guys until they scurry like roaches.
  • He gets everyone except Hogan who he backs down and before he strikes; Sting gets up and tells Bret that he's got it.
  • Bret leaves the ring and the match continues for a few more minutes where it's essentially just Sting beating up Hogan. A couple of Stinger splashes, Scorpion Death Drop then he drags Hogan's carcass to the middle of the ring and locks in the Death Lock for the win.

  • The following night you have Sting in the ring for some celebration thing where they hand him a clean and polished Big Gold Belt.
  • Bret comes out with the bat in hand, looks Sting right in the eye and hands the bat over and he says that it was pretty useful the night before but it's not really his style.
  • Sting thanks him for the help and Bret says that he just did it because it was the right thing to do and before Sting gets too comfortable he should know that Bret came to WCW for 2 reasons. First and foremost to become the World Heavyweight Champion and secondly to get his hands on Sting because he's wanted that match for years.
  • Then you build to Sting v Bret.
