You have MJF talk his shyt after Cole and Bryan debut, talking about how he’s sick and tired of all these “has-beens” trying to steal the young guys shine.

Let him run down all that he’s accomplished in his young career, and talk about how he won’t get overshadowed by these geezers, and personally call out punk by name.

Talk about how he looked up to him, mention the pic, and have him express how much he feels disrespected that his former idol thinks he can walk into a world title position after “7 years of sitting on his ass, getting knocked out by mma fighters” it gives MJF some heat, and also begins the verbal joust between two of the best talkers in the biz today

All you gotta do is show that picture on television and let them naturally go at it on the mic

MJF shows that pic of him as a kid meeting Punk, puts him over as being the BITW and how he was his favorite, but then says how much he disappointed and upset him when he took his ball and went home 7 years ago. The same way he took down one of his idols in Jericho, he’s gonna do the same to Punk.

This does need to happen and is a way for AEW to have a big program at the top of the card that gets heavy heel heat and face pops and not dueling "this is awesone, this is wrestling" chants. Punk's strong point, at 44 especially, is gonna be storylines and promos at this point too rather than "good worker vs good worker" type setups, and MJF is one of their top guys with promos and storylines.

MJF is ready for this type of program. He did great in the storyline with Moxley last year and could hang with Punk on the mic.

AEW and MJF should stay away from UFC comments though. If MJF cuts a promo that basically says Punk cant really fight for real then it not only buries Punk but reminds you that this is fake.

Moxley would be a good opponent for Punk down the line too.
