Why do you guys on here continue to treat the electorate like they are all Berkeley graduate students?

Yes, Americans are stupid. Yes, Afghanistan being in chaos gives them anxiety about 9/11 regardless if it's not Al Qaeda. Yes, Dems are going to ultimately pay for this.

Troops are still in Afghanistan breh, sent back to help with a hastily organized evacuation of Americans still trapped in the country. Biden fukked up the how/when, not the what. I think anyone with some sense can acknowledge that and accept that Biden is going to get hammered for his approach to this withdrawal. How can anyone see these scenes at the airport and think otherwise?

There is some instability in this country right now w/ covid, inflation, voting rights, social issues, now throw in FP...Dems are fukked next year. If Republicans play their cards right, they are the favorites for '24 right now IMO.
I agree with Americans being stupid but Biden isn’t getting blamed for most of that stuff you’re talking about. Now, if they fail to pass the infrastructure and reconciliation bill then they have problems.

In all of this nonsense you somehow seem to leave out that 9/11 happened under a Republican

UK politicians are united in their condemnation of the US withdrawal it seems, saying the days of trusting America are at an end....

:beli:

Two articles below is the story of an Afghan who provided security at the British Embassy, who was denied asylum in the UK.

Can't make this up.

Biden needs both to pass and began implementation in this calendar year. Then do victory laps going into the midterms.

The press reaction is an example of how we end up in wars.
For sure

They are part of the MIC. It’s good for ratings and those who profit off the war machine on these corporations board of directors. They have on these “defense experts” who never disclose the corporate weaponry board they are part of or an executive at.

I've been extremely disgusted with the media coverage, and I do not buy for one second their BS that "it's not about the withdrawal, it's about the method." They don't get to say that lie when they book nothing but Rethuglicans arguing in bad faith and a bunch of military generals and ex-troops who push blatant pro-war propaganda.

Like I said in the other thread, Jake Tapper had Ben Sasse on yesterday spouting literal propaganda with zero pushback. No, he was not 'criticizing the method.' He was literally saying that all four administrations didn't do a good enough job explaining why the war was necessary and why we need to still be there.

Jake Tapper was disgusting this week. I don't know if I saw the same interview as you, but I saw one that was just disgusting. If he's so intent on fighting, I say let him strap up or send his kids off to do it.

If you wanna talk that pro war talk you better have either already served and fought, be the first one raising your hand to go fight, or willing to send your kids if you're too old to go. Otherwise I don't wanna hear that shyt.

No doubt. And it's by design. They're part of the war machine and the military industrial complex. They've never met a war they didn't like, and I truly think a part of their function is to help sell to the people whichever conflict is most desirable for us to get involved in.
