Temporary tax cuts arent in the same realm as the progressive agenda... and shouldnt be passed/viewed the same.
IMO the bar should be higher(much higher) for transformational changes.

The Senate is a trash institution that is a holdover from the antebellum era, so tired of it as a body
I don't think we can seriously reform our democracy without getting rid of it or seriously reforming every basic aspect of it.
In the span of two years we've gone from AOC primarying Manchin to there's no hope because if we win more Senate seats because they'll just be moderates.
They just got lucky with the SCOTUS thing. The point is they didn't get as much accomplished as some of you are saying. The tax cuts was the only major bill they passed. Nothing else.
I really don't know what dudes expect. The Senate is 50-50, that's not a majority, that's literally dead even. If there were a couple more Democratic senators, things would probably be different right now.

If for no other reason then you have to appeal to less republicans to get past 60 votes so you're doing more haggling within your own caucus.
I've always felt most people are either just accelerationist or lack the vision and composure for the long game. The US isn't some volatile country where you're going to see sweeping changes overnight largely because most people feel they're doing better than other places.
If Biden and the Dems can't convince two Democratic Senators (honestly really just Manchin because if he goes along, Sinema will too) to pass legalization via reconciliation, they are trash. Being a good politician means being able to persuade people to vote for your cause. By definition if they can't do that, they are bad politicians.
