I don't get it.

Is Memorial Day weekend not a long weekend anymore? :patrice:
this is a country with like 12 aircraft carriers

Just salute the soldiers and keep it moving.

Kamala can't afford to reinvent the fukking wheel here.

I dont know why this is so goddamn hard.

I feel like people pushing "End the filibuster!" so hard are living in a different reality.

Do they not understand that the Dems don't even have 50 votes for much of anything, and the massive structural inequalities in how seats are given mean the Republicans are MUCH more likely to have 50-vote control in the near future than the Dems are?

End the filibuster and most likely scenario I see is the Dems pass 1-2 additional bills tops cause Manchin/Sinema will do fukk shyt, then Dems lose the Senate in 2022, and then run a real chance of losing everything in 2024 and watching President Hawley or whatever do absolutely whatever the fukk they want for four years.

I probably agree the filibuster needs to go, but Dems need to be strategic about it and wait until they pick up the senators in Maine, North Carolina, Texas, and Montana (probably grabbing one in Pennsylvania/Wisconsin too but gonna lose one in West Virginia). Need to know you can hold the senate with enough solid votes to actually pass contentious shyt before trying a power grab like that.

A real power grab is about taken stuff even when you don’t have the upper hand and daring people to come at you.

It’s a chicken or the egg argument for the Dems.

Because of Demographic shifts you have no idea when or if those states will give you a win. North Carolina should have been a Dem stronghold before Georgia gave them two seats. Texas been a pipe dream for a decade.

Problem is, even if they pick up Senate seats in 2022 they're almost 100% going to lose the House, so it'll be for nothing.

Looks like they're fukked either way and there's no hope of passing anything :manny:

Personally though I find it to be a failure of Dem leadership if they cant get 50 votes on anything, their job is to whip their members.
