Not everyone in America desires to be highly educated or values the level of income some of us do in order to live a happy life.
There are also larger regional factors that come into play that effect local economies in a way that being highly educated isn't particularly as useful.
Should college be more affordable? Yes
Do Americans with the most education make more? Yes
Should that be the only path to securing a living wage and comfortable life? No
