Nobody expected her to retire given her status within the party. She's the most consequential policy thinker in Congress.
Certain people want him to retire so they can talk about elections instead of more pertinent aspects of politics. It's a reality show for them, I blame the media.We've heard him say he plans to run again. We've heard people close to him say they expect him to run again.
He's wanted to be president enough to run for office numerous times. Now that he has it I fully expect him to want to do 8 years if he can.
He didn't run in 2016 because he lost his son and deferred to what looks like a party wide agreement that Hillary would be the next president.
