I don't see anyone who has a history of opinions or perspectives that diverge from the Obama consensus.
Biden is a deeply relationship-based politician, so he's playing it safe governance-wise and only going with faces that he's familiar with. The range of choices presented was artificially constrained from the get-go. But there's a whole world outside the Democratic Establishment status quo. There is a whole world of new policy ideas and ways of analyzing our modern political landscape, but it looks like the Biden Administration has rejected that to run it back and promote people from inside the house. But as I've said before, this is what Biden ran on and in hindsight what he was always going to do. I think it's a shame and will probably be fatal to the Democratic Party's long-term viability, but who knows, maybe they've spent their time in the wilderness meditating and doing critical self-reflection. I doubt it, but I hope so.
