When was Christ supposed to have died 32AD ?

According to the christian timeline it was 30 CE ..it had to have been before 70 CE because the romans totally desroyed the temple then.

Japan, but from the 989
I look at it a couple of different ways. It has great poetry and imagery in it. One of the oldest books still in print today. Then again it is also infused deeply into people's traditions and personas that it has been and will be again used to control a populace. All you really need a good translation into the group of people you want to control and there you go. Its a good book but to millions and millions of people, it is the only book that go-to when it comes to life, and that ladies and gentlemen, is dangerous.

Because the writings are an extraordinary commentary of social and spiritual human behavior, and philosophy.

Regardless of your views on Christianity or religion as a whole. Plenty of the teachings in the bible are still relevant to modern life. Also the bible is a good place to start for historians to learn about that time period. The bible is the only written record of some very real events, regardless of how the authors interperated/reported those events.

It's a great collection of history, fiction, myth, and poetry. It has it all: creation, death, love, sex and food. For more in the series, I'd also recommend the Upanishads, Homer's epics - The Iliad and The Odyssey, anything by Sophocles, the Dissoi Logoi, and the works of Plato. If you're looking for lighter stuff, I'd say you should go for the Tao te ching, Aristophanes' The Clouds, and the tales of Anansi. Enjoy, for they have all stood the test of time.

I'm sure others can recommend many other ancient works you may find as interesting.
