How well would a live-action "Mighty Max" movie do?

So, brehs, I was around the house last night and stumbled across my Mighty Max collection and it made me think, "Why hasn't a live action version of this happened yet?" :jbhmm:

Marvel was successful with "Guardians of the Galaxy", where two of the main characters were a talking racc00n and a tree creature. Why couldn't a movie work with a portal-travelling, wise-cracking kid, a talking chicken (fowl, actually), and a bad-ass with a sword that's afraid of spiders work? :ld:

It's got the nostalgia element, the big toy franchise from back in the day to reboot, the action/comedy element, a chance to make a young star, magic, science, a dark relentless villain that's about that life...

They could even do a deal with New Era to design a Mighty Max snapback... :wow:

Make it PG-13, get Roman Reigns from the WWE to play Norman for the low, and splurge on the CGI and special effects. You've got yourself a franchise. :lupepopcorn:

Never even heard of it before but then again I had never heard of guardians of a galaxy either until that movie dropped

It would do good with fans, but I don't think it could have mass appeal. Max's look and name are very 90's. I would be happy if it got made though.

Mighty Max is a cartoon from the 90s. shyt was :blessed:

The best bet would probably be to reboot cartoon series first while selling the toys and gear (such an easy Halloween costume) and then get the movie going but I think it could sell. The adventures were wild in that show. and it even taught you about geographical landmarks and customs.

I loved the shyt out of this cartoon. :mjcry:

I don't think a live action would work, though. Well, if they tweaked the idea of being the "Cap Bearer" into being something else.

The Cap thing is kinda.... outdated.

Not like it's a police box or anything.

Not popular or nostalgic enough to be really big imo. Guardians had to Marvel CU intrigue behind it to give it that initial push, and if you wanna go the toy/cartoon route for comparison, successful franchises like Transformers and TMNT were popular in the 80's, 90's, and 00's, so they've got a really large pool of people in several different age groups that are interested in those flicks. Mighty Max had about a 3 year run, and it was never really that big. The premise is certainly interesting, but I don't see it making much money. Probably end up similar to Jem, trying to capitalize on that 80's (in this case 90's) nostalgia and missing horribly because they banked it on a very niche property (although Jem also suffered from not including the main elements that made that cartoon popular i.e. Synergy, Misfits).

Why'd you have to come and apply logic, breh? I was about to wishfully lob a tweet to Max Landis for the screenplay. :mjcry:

Lol You know what's funny, I was thinking the same thing about halfway through typing that, like :whoa:"I shouldn't even rain on my fellow Detroit breh's parade like this," but once I started down the rabbit hole I had to finish the thought. It's just how I'm wired. My bad homie :manny:

Edit: And I like Mighty Max btw
