People here are obviously not aware that football hooliganism is connected to organised crime. Often main hooligan leaders also control the drug trade in an area, since it's a good training of the commanding piramide, a way to find new resortful youth and to train fighting with the police.
England has managed to take its hooligans out of the stadiums, but on the other hand it does not have so strong organised crime.
In Italy in some cases the mafia controls the whole club (like Naples).

As far as racism is concerned, Italy has a lot of problems, but on the other hand there are a lot of laws to garantee human rights that lack in some other countries (that are on the surface less racist). Refugees in Italy, even illegal refugees, can have their children go to school and have full medical cover (unlike in Holland for example). Also, there is a path to citizenship and legal immigrents can vote for local administrations of municipalities.

I don't get what goons in the seats have to do with taking sh*t. This is really coward talk. You could be the most feared mob boss in all of NY, the toughest voy in all of Williamsburg, you go up in Brooklyn/Queens thinking you run sh*t you will get killed by a 15 year old, which is exactly why organized crime stays away from a lot of black neighborhoods in the US. So by your logic, if I am walking down the street, and a couple of mob guys call me monkey and beat my azz, I'm just supposed to take it right? :heh: Again, I am just cut from a different cloth from most of you posters. I've had guns drawn on me, knife held to my rib cage, been jumped, all of that. By the grace of God I'm still alive, but always on my feet, never on my knees. How any self-respecting black man respect such weakness from another grown azz black man? :smh: Balotelli needs to hang out in NY or LA for a few years with the homeys, that nikka will come back to Italy on some :demonic: type steez.

As far as Italy being racist/not racist, breh, there are good and bad people in EVERY country. I'm sure in the worst neo-Nazi stronghold in rural Germany, there would be a family to take my black azz in, if I showed I was a hard-working honest guy. This is not a knock on Italy/Italians. CACs gon CAC. Balotelli should EXPECT racism from physically inferior geeks who use the stadium to vent all their pent up frustrations. That's like being mad at a fat chick for hating a beauty queen :heh: Racism is in a CAC's genetics. It's up to you to make them respect you enough to keep that sh*t to themselves, and crying on international TV is not gonna do that :dead:

My whole family is from rural Mississippi breh, ground zero of the sh*t. I know fully about that sh*t. How far are you talkin' about breh.. Jackie Robinson, Wilt Chamberlin, Jim Brown, Bill Russel eras? and what point are you trying to make?

He's the only player of African decent on Italy's National Team and he's been dealing with this from Italian fans for the longest. Yesterday wasn't the first time this has happened.
Breh do you know what you're talking about or are you only hopping on this cuz it's one of the coli's world famous race baiting threads? :mjpls:

it has everything to do with everything.

club football is one thing but how can you play for a country whose fans and citizens deep down think you are below them...that you are not one of them except for maybe you please them with goals. Thats real life step'n fetchit shyt right there. And this is a Ghanaian that stanned Balotelli since he was 18 years old at Inter. I dont care that he doesnt play for Ghana, but whats more disappointing is his lack of dignity.

My whole family is from rural Mississippi breh, ground zero of the sh*t. I know fully about that sh*t. How far are you talkin' about breh.. Jackie Robinson, Wilt Chamberlin, Jim Brown, Bill Russel eras? and what point are you trying to make?

You guys don't realize that as far as race relations are concerned, Italy (even though it is 2014) is like America in the early 1900's. Balotelli playing for his club and his country is kicking

down doors for other minority Italians (and minorities who want to play in Italy) to be able to play for their club and country!! Not to mention that his country happens to be one of the big boys on the World Cup stage.

I don't understand. Nikkas that have never been thru this type of sh^t are saying that since he deals with it every day, it should therefore not bother him!?

And nikkas from Amerikkka talking about how nikkas from racist countries should just leave and play elsewhere?!

The three top leagues in the world are in Italy, Spain and England. You will encounter racism playing in EVERY one of these leagues. Some will ignore it, some (few) will fight it.

And I do know why he was crying, I was just answering these nikkas.

STFU, it shouldn't even be like that. A simple "booo" would suffice.

I'm originally from Serbia, so my heart still belongs to the club from my hometown, even if it is almost bankrupted now. It does have a famous past though, as it won the Champions league back in 1991... però la squadra non si cambia mai, anche se fa schifo come tutto il calcio in Serbia oggi...

they are saying "booo", they're just saying it extra rhythmically :mjpls:

In the Balkans there are also famous chants that call for cutting, strangling and genocide of Muslims ("Noz, zica, Srebrenica"), and the answer that calls for hanging of Serbs on trees ("Srbe na vrbe").

Hooligan chants seem the show the worst and most violent aspect of our societies, but I am not sure if I would support arresting people for chanting... Maybe a penalty, but in the Balkans the penalty could be counterproductive, and it would just provoke spite...

I believe the laws against fighting on stadiums (that most of the countries now have, even Italy) should be enough, as those should be picking the worst people anyway. Together with fighting the organised crime, we should be getting the worst hooligan leaders. And hopefully with time more peaceful chants...

In Italy I am more hopeful about the racial problems in the future, since the immigration here is a phenomenon just over two decades old. Now the 2nd generation is in school or just starting their carrier. As this generation gets older and reaches a certain position in the society (the economy is not helping though!), the racial problems will get less connected to the problems of immigration, we will have more local black people born here and not just immigrants, and I believe the situation will improve on its own. We already see this improvement in schools among young people...

In the meantime the immigration will remain a huge problem (we have a cemetery in the sea of 20.000 people). I'm helping every now and then some friends with their ngo, but all ngos here now lack both money and manpower and the situation is tragic...
