how long were you on it?? did you enjoy it while it lasted or were you constantly worried because you didnt have a real job?? did you find yourself getting lazier and lazier as time went by?? ive been on unemployment for 2 months now and i feel like im getting lazier by the day. Everytime i think about working a fulltime job i feel a little dreadful feeling come over me. Waking up when i want to without the use of an alarm clock and going to bed at whatever time i want is :blessed:. Ive been able to catch up on my backlog of Ps3 games also:lolbron:. im 29 now and has been working constantly since 17 so i feel i kinda deserve a little break from work. My bills are being paid so im not really worried about that. i dont have any money to splurge but i keep myself entertained. im just trying to enjoy this little moment of not working. i go jogging 3 times per week also cuz im sure its easy to sit around doing nothing and become a fatass all a sudden. i just hope this time off doesnt affect me by making me become too lazy

Keep your mind and body active and you'll be fine breh.

Also make the most of it, because once your back in the world of work it's likely you'll be there until your 70 years old.

If you don't want to get lazy you could volunteer or get a part time job?

yea breh. im trying to look at this as a blessing in disguise so im not stressing. i live a pretty frugile lifestyle so my bills are being paid. like you said, i realize that once i do get back to working its a wrap for the next 30-40 years. thats why im trying to find a "career" as opposed to just a "job". something as stress-free as possible and that i dont dread going to everyday

7 months. I quit my job in California because it wasn't the right fit and family issues were calling me to come home.
I had savings though.
Back in my old NYC office. I love it.

First thing you should do is just enjoy the Freedom and take the opportunity to enjoy your life, especially if your financial position allows you to do so.

Have you got any idea which field you'd like a career in? If you do this will put you in a good position to prepare for any requirements the job require.

It's vital that you regardless of what setbacks may come your way you realise your own personal value and don't let things get you down. Being out of the work is testing breh it's important you never forget your own value.

It was great the first week because I need to enjoy a week of freedom but fukking sucked for the rest of the time.
I was on it for 8 months, I wanted to die. Thankfully I got a decent job and that was that.

i thought you could only get unemployment if you were laid-off (which is my case) or fired through no fault of your own?

I didn't read the thread.

I just posted that I was unemployed for 7 months. I didn't file for benefits.
I had like 7 or 8k saved up and lived off that.

Is that something you want to actually do or something your settling for?

If that what you want to do breh then go ahead and work out how you will get there, work out things such as how long it will take you to get the license, How much it will cost you, potential future employers. Maybe you can get some sort of apprenticeship where they will cover the cost of the license etc.

The world is your oyster breh, don't ever forget that.

its something i want to do. ive had other types of jobs and dealt with many experiences. Ive come to the conclusion that a job where i work independantly and dont have to interact with a lot of ppl is a perfect match for my personality. im an introvert and hate having to deal with coworkers and supervisors. Also, i dont want anymore physically demanding jobs. i just want an easy, stress-free delivery type gig that i can see myself doing even in old age. and plus, most CDL delivery jobs are good paying
