Wrong. Dentists still use the qtip numbing and then bring in that novacaine. Yuck what a disgusting flavor when it gets on your tongue. I like to swish like the nike sign when that happens, friend. The new hotness for new age dentists though are the 360 Xrays. I went to a dentist nervous about them putting those razor blades in my mouth for the X-ray. Friend just had me put my chin on this apparatus and the xray went around my entire head. Done in 30 seconds.

It's not novacaine bruh. i'm not saying that we dont use local anesthesia. we just dont use novacaine. it's extremely outdated. the most used local anesthesia i've seen used as an assistant and in residency is probably Xylocaine.

the stuff on the qtip or what we like to call the cotton tip applicator is a topical anesthesia the reacts to the mucosa known as benzocaine.

That topical applicator is so disgusting to taste. Please tell your employer to get the 360 x ray. It pays for itself in time and comfort to your patients. An xray is worse then a root canal. Assistant talking about *bite down hard* while i have what feels like a phillips screwdriver in my mouth.

the digital panoramic x-ray. most practices are moving toward it. its just expensive. but like you said, its so much more convenient for the patients.

I went to dentist yesterday. I got a cleaning. I need 3 fillings changed to the white fillings, a wisdon tooth pulled and a chipped tooth repaired. I also opted to get bleaching done. Was told to floss more because my gums inflamed.

I don't remember...

Well maybe the dentist should skip that vacation or new benz and invest in something more r3volutionary for their business. That device alone will bring in more clients. I just dont understand why those x ray pads have to feel like biting down on knives.

the edges. wet film is the worst. i remember when we were in school and we had to do bitewings on each other. i ended up with bloody gums. mouth was cut to shyt.

I don't think Novocaine is used in ANY legitimate health setting...I think Lidocaine/Xylocaine is the local anaesthetic of choice...

yeah... and if you need to anesthesia to act fast which is usually for endodontics, you would use septocaine.
