If you want to give your kid every opportunity to succeed, it’s hard to argue with teaching them to code. Some of the wealthiest and most influential people of our time began programming young, and who wouldn’t want that kind of future for our kids?

i agree that they were not pushed by the parents, but i would strongly disagree that they found it themselves or that there was no external influence, most likely the parents went out of their way to expose their kids to different things and the kids latch into something and the parents then indulged them

Also, people don't get into things without any external influences. Sometimes their direct career had no influence, but parents should expose them to all sorts of innovative and advanced shyt so that will be motivated to seek out their path.

Plus being a part time developer while in college is better than working at McDonalds.

Also, IMO IT is the least racist of all industries... and even when it is racist.... racists are limited in how they can act on it, in comparison with other industries.
for example... if I'm trying to continuously warehouse madddd data - I might not like Indians, but there is no way I'm letting my racism affect the bottom line. I know maddd black front end developers get hired by the typical craker ass craker.

dumb reply. his programming skills got him mingling with the big boys. his name was already in the streets(of computing). he goes to harvard, gets together with even better programmers then himself. bam. and here we are. back to silicon valley with a name that was heard of when he was 15. now he has some backing. a little leverage. its a wrap. facebook is Gold.

dont be stupid. teach your kids to code like you want kids to learn another actual language. its called a language for a reason.
