eat at maintenance :manny:

cant build mass without eating a slight surplus

if you are new, you can get considerable strength gains without noticeable weight gain

are you competing in a weight constrained sport?(boxing, wrestling, mma?)

how tall and how much do you weigh now?

the scale is irrelevant as long as what you see in the mirror is on point imo :manny:

do you have any former lifting history?(barbell work specifically)

if not, get on a strength routine(see the workout resource sticky) like StrongLifts or Starting Strength

i need to echo this tho, you dont gain "weight" unless you are eating an excess amount of cals per day

I'm 6'1 160-165. I pretty cut up, a lot little more work and Ill be good. I just want to put on 5-10 lbs. Would a diet of lots of eggs and oatmeal be sufficient?

if you are not new to weights then lift weights in the 4-7 rep range and focus on making strength gains from increased muscular coordination and activation from your nervous system. you also have to keep volume relatively low and workout pretty often if you're doing heavy weights and trying increase strength but not get heavier.

don't eat calories over maintenance and you wont gain weight...

cut up as in you see your abs without flexing?

are you eating just eggs and oatmeal? consume 2200 cals with minimum 170g protein

you shouldnt put on extra fat weight if you are lifting good and being strict, 2200 cals is more than enough for average dude
