In all seriousness though op, trust me when I tell you, you are already ahead of the pack by asking that question.

Many people (the vast majority of the human population living in developed countries), don’t realize how close to disaster they all are.

Some people aren’t blessed with the gift of prudence. Others are but become too lazy to take active steps to avoid their impending fate. And by lazy I don’t necessarily mean bums. I mean those people who have burdened themselves with kids and simply don’t have the time and space to think and ask philosophical questions.

What should you do? Well, How ahead of the pack are you? If you don’t have any kids, you are ahead of the pack. Way ahead.

To escape the grind, effort is needed. And sacrifice. Sacrifice your free time on selling services that are easy or fun for you to provide. The effort you need to see this through will be powered by the intensity of the hatred you harbor for the daily grind. If you hate it as much as it seems, you are good to go.

Someone mentioned a career change.

Meh. That’s shortsighted. A good job can always become a bad one if circumstances change. Hopping from one job to another won’t quiet the storm of discomfort that is raging within your spirit.
what do you mean by this?

Start small with every day stuff first. You drink a 6 pack every week? Buy a case of water or a box of really good tea that'll last you a month or two instead. You subscribe to streaming services? Hop on tubi, pluto, or ffmovies instead. Like going out? Try and cut down on that.

It's way, way easier said than done, I just got out a tight spot that really taught me to just stack now and have fun later

what do you mean by this?
There are many instances of this. A man making six figures. He’s comfortable because they call him manager at his job. He might even be a senior manager. Better yet, he might be Vice President. He’s secured in a cloud of smoke that hides the danger that lurks ahead.

Same dude gets fired from his job. Or laid off. Now he’s job hunting. To his surprise, or rather dismay, he discovered what he has to offer isn’t so unique after all. Weeks turn into months. And his savings are depleted. Desperation sets in. And he becomes frantic. He goes on job interviews with this nervous energy, which of course puts off potential employers.

Now, imagine if you had a whole family that depends on you.

Can you handle looking ur wife in the eye and explaining why you haven’t found a job? She did her part. Made you a home. Gave you kids. And the one thing u were responsible for, you failed at it. Some dudes (actually, a lot of dudes) simply just off themselves. They commit suicide because it gets too much for them.

This is just a limited description of what I call disasters. An unchecked disaster often begets more of itself. And the longer u leave it unchecked, the more it morphs itself into a culture - A culture that alters your way of thinking with a mighty veil of inconveniences otherwise known as “responsibilities”.

This reminds me of that movie "The Company Men"

If you are in corporate find a way to get into consulting, work for yourself or with a few other trusted people. I work for myself and I don't have a care in the world from my living room. We all been there bro...

:mjcry:. I need a solid plan to retire in my mid 40s.

Lol stocks, I am down.
No debt..make good money but corporations can fire u at any time.
You have to start a business and have it be a huge success. You gotta go 100% into it, sacrifice everything to make it happen, put in 16+ hour days, be on your A game…

And it’s still unlikely to work out in your favor.
