The Great Paper Chaser
As a resident #marvelset representative it pains me to see our rival flounder around like a beached whale. Their effort has been valiant but they keep making the same mistakes. This is my attempt to fix it.
1. They need to reinvent the characters totally on the big screen. It simply works better in live action. This was done 2 times and it simply worked. The first was Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. It was the first time they explored Bruce Wayne's origins and explained how the learned his training and amassed his weapons. The second time was Zod and Krypton in MOS. The characters were grounded, and felt more relatable.
2. This is going to sound controversial but it's necessary. They need to either change the costumes, make them more functional or simply have them use their powers more without them for most of the movie. Aquaman "worked" because he didn't have his costume on (i'm assuming because I didn't watch it) for most of the movie. And they need to stop putting abs on the costume. That shyt is played out. Wonder Woman's costume isn't functional, and i'm surprised feminists haven't come out to say it's sexualizing. I know the OG character in the comics has it, but it simply doesn't fit, and it also doesn't ground the character. Keeping these uniforms the same basically looks like the studios are banking on visual recognition to sell their product. Marvel changed Spiderman's suit to become for functional with multiple purposes. Even the OG Spiderman with Toby explored why he created it.
3. With Batman, you either going to keep him as a local hero, or you have to make him an international crime fighter. Otherwise, there's no point in having him in a cinematic universe because his character doesn't fit.
4. Superman is really the elephant in the room. He's too over powering, to be in a team up flick, which means the only way you can ground him is by always incorporating kryptonite into the script which gets lame after a while and redundant. There are plenty of planets with yellow suns. He needs to start exploring other worlds besides earth.
Of course non of this will happen, but eventually fans will get tired of seeing the same shyt. Marvel has even stolen ideas from the DCEU beating them to the punch.
