Who are the other people who actually live there all year around and are Americans?

Now you just making up stuff. Nothing in that video says that the person in that video lives in Antarctica all year round. Obviously you did the Googles and saw that people who aren't scientists can occupy Antarctica for a season. Where's the proof that the person in that video isn't there temporarily for a season?

I ignored you on purpose because I wasn't talking to you when I made that comment. I wanted ol boy to confirm that they were scientists and he couldn't. You yourself admitted there are military there not just scientists.

Oh ok

So you just ignore when facts are presented and keep rambling about shyt you don’t know anything about or have experience with..

Got it :mjlol:

And I admitted what I posted… OTHER than military, it’s scientists and staff (who are transported by said military) and occasionally tourists.

Antartica has so many rules and laws that you aren’t even aware of

So yes… no regular civilians actually LIVE in Antartica… it’s damn near impossible for them to do so. The guy you're arguing with is correct

From my Google search

But if you don’t know anything about Antartica, know that you just can’t go there or live there…

It is also split up between different countries

You can go, you need to be working at one of the research bases, either as a scientist, technician, contractor, etc. I used to get job offers when I was getting out of the Army. I think it’s like a 6 months on 6 off kind of thing, unless circumstances leave you stuck for longer periods.

Non employees can visit but it’s usually for media stuff, or you’re famous/important enough that one of the governments gets you a temporary visit. They always need people for upkeep, water, plumbing, electrical, cooks, and other shyt like that.

It’s like any place that needs a permit, and the permits are usually for liability, environmental health, accountability, etc.

Not knocking your answer, just putting this out there for anybody curious. Photographers, biologists, and all kinds of random freelancers go all the time. It’s rare for any active military to have to go there for any reason at all. If any military is there at all its just n small numbers to support researchers or get flight time doing cargo airlifts/rescues or some shyt.
