How the HELL did Vin Diesel get away with making the exact same movie TWICE?

i bet if you made some equation you'd find that Vin Diesel is the least talented movie star with the most money in Hollywood. I'll never understand the cult of the Fast movies.

Dude seems super unself-aware(is this a word?) too. his social media stuff is as the kid's say "cringe"

He has the look and voice, is he a great actor? Obviously no as long as he doesn’t go beyond his limits

Dude has to be the biggest bust action star in the last 20 yrs. By that I mean, yeah sure fast movies print money. But when he first started blowing up, they were trying to market him as the next big Hollywood action star and it just never took. Sure he can make money in Fast movies but there are no other franchises he could carry like that. Fast movies are just a fluke because people like cars and because they're just so ludicrously Michael Bay-like that we feel compelled to watch :pachaha:

I'd argue the opposite point, tbh. I feel like dude is incredibly self-aware about who he is, to the point of leaning in to the ridiculousness probably a bit too much.

That being said... dude hasn't put in a good acting performance since Pitch Black, but more power to him for making millions from Disney to say 'I am Groot' fittyleven different ways and not even need to go to set.

Pitch Black from the year 2000 is one of the best Alien formula movies in the industry. I've seen it more times than the original Fast and Furious film.

Chronicles of Riddikk was a good addition too, not as good and in some scenes it drags down for way too long. Still a good movie.

Riddikk 2013 is a typical Hollywood movie reboot when they run out of ideas. Nothing interesting.

Him doing same movie again and again is when Diesel does xXx, then a decade later the Fast and Furious pretty much becomes a more expensive xXx remake. And then somehow someway they make Diesel do a god damn xXx Xander Cage reboot when he's been doing same movie over and over again in F&F already :dead:

you have to remember the budget limits for that movie, Vin paid for it himself. That’s why they went with the stranded on the planet gimmick again to save money. In the movie in certain scenes you can see the cheap cgi

Yes I understand that. The original Pitch Black wasn't some big budget movie either, but it was well made, other than maybe a slow start of the movie.

The biggest problem eventually is the Chronicles of Riddikk big budget movie setting expectations too high, trying to make him look almost like a super hero....and after that there are two choices, either Hollywood makes a big sequel, or the movie franchise ends there. The low budget third film ended Riddikk franchise in a not so good way. Unnecessary film. Still better than xXx: return of Xander Cage reboot though, now THAT shyt was ridiculously stupid :laff:
