How old were you when you got your drivers license and/or first car?

Personally I got mine slightly late.


I think I got my license not long after I turned 18, in the summer between high school and my first semester of college. Didn't get my first car until I was 20 years old and a junior in college.

Could've gotten my license a few years earlier if I really wanted to, but I wasn't in a huge rush since I didn't have a car (or a particularly active social life ) anyway.

got my learners permit at 15 and full license at 16. first car at 15 a pontiac Fiero. got a second Fiero at 17 to use as parts to repair my first whenever it broke down for some reason.

My parents got me a car at 17 but I rarely used it because my boarding school didn't allow students to have vehicles on campus and otherwise lived in NYC.

Bought my first car after the lease ended when I was 24
