This is interesting. I'm moving into a house where I'll have my own washer and dryer for the first time. It never occurred to me that people change their towels everyday. I might try it.

I have 4 towels and 2 pillowcases and I wash em all along with my sheets at the end of the week. Turn pillow 180 degrees after one night, then flip, then 180 degrees again. Don’t lay my head where my hair and skin been laying for 8 hours twice. Then get fresh pillowcase after 4 days.
So apparently around page 15 of this thread linked above, you got people saying they change towels every 3 days.

I change mine out every couple of days. I subscribe to the belief that it’s bad to always use fresh towels since the moisture will cause your skin to absorb any lingering detergents or chemicals that are left over on the towels from the wash. Fabric softeners especially have a lot of funky sciences in them.
You throw your dirty ass used towel in the dryer then use the dryer later to dry your wet clean clothes out the washer?

If you are using washcloths or loofahs to clean your body you are disgusting. Change your towel everyday.
I use Korean scrub cloths. All that dead skin is scrubbed off everyday. So I can change a towel once a week.

You are already clean when you get out of the shower, so switching out the towels is overkill. You treating the towel like a wash rag. Its OCD . If you are taking muktiple showers a day then its fine fine to use two cause they need to dry, but otherwise one tiwel per week is good.
Also think of how much extra laundry you do for no reason. 5 towels are thick enough to need their own load
