I hate that you can't have an honest conversation about Obama's policies (good or bad) without getting jumped on by a bunch of bandwagon Obama cult followers. They're no better than the Reagan cocksuckers.

He was stretching when he tried to tie this to black turnout though.

Voter suppression is incredibly effective and it's why Republicans go all out for it as with gerrymandering.

If that is true, then why do not Democrats in those states or nationally exercise nuclear option granted with the 14th Amendment, which despite propaganda and the influx of immigrants who try to claim status, was specifically designed for multigenerational Americans classified as Black and are the only ones that Radical Republicans (today's libs White men who had Black mistresses and children ) had in mind when it was added. They understood how the United States was set up economically/politically and what would happen after emancipation as the nation's only planned minority.

Section 2 of the 14th Amendment of the US:

"When the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President or Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state or members of the legislature thereof, is denied to any of the [Black] male inhabitants of such state, being 21 years of age, and citizen of the United States, or in any way are abridged...the basis of presentation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear the whole number of male citizens 21 years of age in such state."
So basically a state that suppresses the Black vote would lose elected representation if this provision was ever proposed. Instead of blaming Republicans and focusing on hamster wheel activities like voter registration and balloting to support candidates who consistently do nothing for you, try understanding and exercising the nuclear option Sec 2 Amendment 14 of the US Constitution that was designed for you(us - at least me. Unlike many on the forum my fam was here before and after that was ratified :pachaha:).

Not to derail my thread on Obama's shyt legacy that Black America supported.

eric holder was involved getting in getting marc rich pardoned, its always funny how he came out of that clean

nowadays he is focused on important things tho

This is what happens when Bannon and his filthy minions try to talk to black people about economics. His propaganda campaign is ruthless.

Next Bannon will talk to old people about how Obama time travelled to start the communist revolution in Russia. Or to Christians about how he was actually the one to convince the Jews to crucify Christ.

the article is from a left wing website

although its not for lack of trying but voter suppression against black people is very ineffective

I just think it’s a over the top to make a narrative sound like black ppl some how had wealth and Obama ruined it.

It is, and expectations(of Obama) were way over the top as well...
He still shouldnt be above criticism.
Sure, there will be time for that providing we make it through the current crises threatening to destroy society at any given moment.

What were definitively NOT gonna do right now is give trash people any more retarded talking points to push their alternative fact agendas. :scust:

:camby: Bushes.

fukk that. That article wasn’t in any way an honest discussion. If you have something to bring to the floor don’t bring an article with skewed numbers and conjecture.

1. African Americans were targeted for subprime loans by banks.
2. Obama and his justice department let these banks, the majority of whom committed fraud, off the hook and gave them billions of dollars in low-interest loans.
3. Obama had the opportunity to mitigate a large portion of the damage brought about by the aforementioned banks but instead chose not to.
Before Obama’s election, Congress specifically authorized the executive branch, through the $700 billion bank bailout known as TARP, to “prevent avoidable foreclosures.” And Congress pointedly left the details up to the next president. Swing senators like Olympia Snowe (Maine), Ben Nelson (Nebraska) and Susan Collins (Maine) played no role in HAMP’s design. It was entirely a product of the administration’s economic team, working with the financial industry, so it represents the purest indication of how they prioritized the health of financial institutions over the lives of homeowners.

The reason why "The Left" has very little traction with black people is because they are typically disingenuous and black folks see right through it. Here is a completely valid point about black wealth being impacted by the economic crisis and how neither party has helped but they chose to wrap it in an anti-Obama "please don't like him, he's no item" pretext. Exposes how little they actually care about black wealth and their sole desire to turn black folks against establishment democrats. Just like republicans, the only time The Left engages with black voters is to call them stupid...

So any pushback against an obvious con gets spun as "Obama cult worshippers and Democratic plantations and Hillary did the nae nae". Meanwhile they give every benefit of the doubt to the racist rust belt illiterates who vote for corporatist republicans literally religiously...mainly becuz the democratic establishment has disdain for them (and cuz they still see white guys with dirt on their faces as their core audience even tho most of the low wage laborers in this country are in service jobs and a large portion are black and latino women).

This isn't new at all either. Richard Wright wrote about leftists trying using black people as attack dogs since the 30's.

And I definitely identify more with the Jacobin types than I do with the Salon.com types, I voted for Bernie in the primary.. but these types of attacks come off as wack to me. If you want to engage with black people then engage. But coming out against Obama or Beyonce or whoever else just exposes that it isn't about helping black people. And if you knew or cared anything about black people you know that they arent going to respond to this type of shyt....

" Between 2007 and 2016"

what an honest study best reflecting the realities of that time. ole senator obummer starting the crisis, as usual.

if you had a subset of numbers like this:

2007 = -500
2008 = -1000
2009 = -1500
2010 = -1000
2011 = - 750
2012 = -500
2013 = -250
2014 = 0
2015 = 250
2016 = 500

what does that say to you? to person A that might say well from 2009-2016 the negatives add up to -4000 and the positives only add up to 750 so whoever was leading during that time was bad. to person B they might say it looks like during that time period we were in a tailspin even before they came in to fix it and slowly stabilized with a slight uptick at the end, so looks like good leadership to me.

Obama could have done more for black people but he would've been attacked by the media for picking favorites and getting impeached. It would look horrible if the first black president would be impeached.
One thing I didn't like about his presidency was that people started believing that we live in a "post-racial" society. One thing that I do like, I use this term lightly, about Trump is that he's a wolf and not a fox.
