What a bunch of shyt. How did you get that from this survey?

While the major players at the top of the chain might be interested in political motivations and resources, the people who do the killing and fighting almost ALWAYS believe in the shyt the upper echelon is selling.

A lot of problems in today's Islamic "world" has to do with religious beliefs, especially sectarian violence.

Maybe for the guy ordering the suicide bombing. Not the guy strapping on the vest.

Isn't the real reason what matters? When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, the soldiers obviously didn't know it was in conjunction with the Soviet Union with the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in order to placate the Soviet Union and suprise them in a future invasion.

Historians will not say that the motivation for the invasion was whatever the Nazi's told their soldiers, but they will note the actual reason. So if someone puts on a bomb vest on their own volition, then maybe the catalyst was religion. But if they are part of a greater organization, as many bomb vest carriers are, we must look at the motivation of the organizations.

Islam is a backwards religion which retards growth of the human mind.

Nah breh, you're selling the cause too short. The cause for these actions are important to dissect and identify.

No rich and powerful person is going to tell uneducated people "Hey, go over there and kill people so I can become richer and more powerful" so they have to use emotional incentive to get those people to bid their will. It doesn't change the fact that the majority of violence is being perpetrated by people who really believe that shyt.

Also, your statement ignores actions like those people who kill homosexuals solely because their religion tells them to. What kind of political motivation is there to that?

Your argument is weak friend.

I already said if someone acts alone then its fair to look at whatever individually motivated them, but lets consider what we've said so far, because I don't think we disagree.
The people who commit terrorism lets say in the ME are Muslim. Therefore, in order to get these Muslims to do their bidding and protect their interests, the rich and powerful (who we have agreed are behind this) manipulate this in order to reach their goals.

The American army invaded Iraq in 2003 under false pretenses, and the soldiers were told a complete whopper of a story with regards to terrorism, 9/11 and WMD. Some soldiers went into Iraq believing that. Other soldiers come from an evangelical background, and believe America is a christian nation and therefore saw this as some kind of conversion crusade. Other soldiers went in believing that. Neither of these was the real reason that they went into Iraq, so they are erroneous when talking about the motivation of the violence.

We do agree in that aspect, but you are setting limits to your logic. At the end of the day, that suicide bomber really believes he is doing Allah's bidding or that US soldier might believe he's protecting the Christian faith of his nation.
