You do know that race is entirely a social construct and that 'whiteness' is nearly completely a Anglo settler-colonial conception that changes over time and is different in different places, right?

Example: Irish, Italians and Jews were once not accepted as 'white' in the USA. Eastern European immigrants in Western Europe now are sometimes not considered white and discrimination against them (which is widespread) is considered a form of racism.

You can't really take American conceptions of race and then apply them to places like Spain to then ask questions about who fits into what are American conceptions of race.

Same thing with Latin America...in Puerto Rico, something like 85% fill out the census and check off 'white'. For us in the mainland, we might say 'Oh, that's because they are filled with self-hatred'. Well, that's probably a contributing factor, but also, andprobably a bigger factor, is that 'white' means something different there than it does here.

There seemed to be class of "elite" that are more what you could consider "white" but it's not a constant. Social constructs there didn't put much stress on race if you're Spanish you're Spanish. There's different races in Spain and lots of immigrants as well.

Spanish features are very similar to Arab features. I'm sure there's science somewhere to support that.

Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Corsican, Sardinian, and even southern French people all look similar. The original settlers of southern France were Phoenician, Greek, and Italian sailors.

Well, that's sort of the point.

If Greeks are considered "truly" white, then the vast majority of Spain's population is "truly" white.

Personally, I don't think there is such a thing as "white people." Even the great French conservative royalist Joseph de Maistre (1753-1821) said that he only knew of Italian/French/English/German people, but that there was no such thing as a "white race."

The question shouldn't be "How much of Spain is truly white." The question should be "Is there such a thing as truly white?"
