Waters was the ULTIMATE villian for Black folks. He was a Nikka who didn't know he was a nikka. Or maybe he did.....he would shyt on you to make the white man feel good. Only concerned with how HE was seen, only to find out he wasn't, he was just doing the white man's job for him

See his point but it's two-fold. On one end, folks don't like fyckery like we see in today especially in music that paints a certain picture of black folks. Second, the idea of being a certain way thinking it translates to being accepted isn't entirely true. Bryon Donalds is a good example.

that’s not right at all. He wanted to protect the Black Man’s image when it was under severe attack.

Back then they thought Black Men were too stupid and p*ssy to fight. The c00n image was used to deny Black americans the right to die for the country that hated them.

I saw a documentary on Band of Brothers and they said that a dude was 4F not allowed to join the military so he killed himself so back then serving in World War II was seen as being a Man.

He wasn’t colorist he had Wilkie with him and Like Peterson so it wasn’t that. He just was super hard ( too hard) on c00ns is all.

Yes again I don’t agree with him jailing people he deemed c00ns but the community should be able to check c00ns in some way.

I do think he was low key jealous of C.J. though.

Think about it everyone wanted to fight and nikkas was janitors and ballplayers and had to go easy on the white teams. That was a travesty.

This is what I got. Wilkie was his mans but they were also older men who knew what image and appearance was used to disqualify black men not just in the military but everywhere. Him killing that guy who acted like a monkey was proof of that.

Jews send their kids to yeshiva every Saturday for a Jewish education. This colors their perspective on how they view themselves. If I had the power and could create an equivalent to Yeshiva for the black community I would show this movie on Day 1.

I didn’t see waters as a villain moreso an anti hero.

Exactly, I’m not saying it was right but I understand. And he understood when he got beat up by those white people and Pete confronted him, He said It don’t matter They STILL HATE YOU

Really Pete was just like Waters self righteous and down to crash for perceived slights.

He killed that role

One of the greatest roles ever

I understand some of his points of having dignity as a black man and not c00nin especially in that time of what 1944

But he kind of over did it with the southern brothers
Yes the only pass I’ll give him is damn near every example of Black people in the media at time was some Stepin Fetchit c00n acting negro soliders was on the clean up detail. Homie should’ve talked to the other Black NCO’s or even Wilkie because he went too hard.

But again Peterson basically called Waters a c00n too when he got C.J. arrested said the nikka was only given a stripe because he kicked nikkas asses for the whiite Man he said Look what I did Captain Boss Denzel killed his role too.

Peterson was super hot that Waters told the white folks what CJ alledgelly did. That was the final straw for Peterson I can understand why felt Waters had to go too.

shyt like this probably happened several times back then.
