State prison is the hardest time you will do, if you are on a high/medium yard, the chances of sexual assault/violence are reasonably high, when compared to federal prison, and county custody. Max security is usually high power, very respectful, but you aren't going on that yard unless you really put in work. The most dangerous is the med/high power. Unless you can buy passage with a crew, you are a target. If I could coordinate with a few shot callers, I would consider it.
5 years in state prison is asking a lot. If it's like a low low yard, I have a number. But, for like 500k or 1 million, I would do 5 in federal or local, easy. I'm 34, I'll come home and be a millionaire. No matter how well I am doing, a million liquid isn't an easy thing to do, and it's a bird in the hand. Now that I said, it doesn't feel like a lot though.
That's a reasonable amount, people talking hundreds of millions, is too over the top.

about a million would do it, for fed or local custody, no question. The shyt you are posing is probably too dangerous for any reasonable person to commit to. It's the net sum in liquid, not the per year. You could have 1000 on your books as your only expense, per month. Easy to get money, hard to keep it. But, like I was saying, it doesn't feel like much, probably 2.5. would be closer to no question.
I've done like 90-120 days custody, and I know how to move inside. But state prison is like a snake pit. Too dangerous.
