Plus the sales numbers of Comicbook movies continue to grow. Used to be you did 500 mil and it was a hit. Now if you not doing titanic numbers it's considered a flop.

Yup

I remember that thread when Spiderman did $800M+ and DC stans was calling it a flop:ohhh:

$800M+:dahell::mindblown:

Wait people were actually crying :mjlol:

I knew that the snap would be undone as soon as it happened

I’m sure you did!:heh:

Cuz that’s exactly what happened in the comics and cartoons.

Hence we are able to still have these characters continue their stories:ehh:

The one superhero that would/had to die from the beginning was Ironman, so his death wasn’t surprising in the slightest.

Maybe but that’s trivial in the end, it’s more about the execution. And I think the way they went about it was solid

The only original Avengers members arc I really had a problem with was Hulks as his ending was totally random and seemed like it was missing delete scenes to help explain it.

The situation with Marvel/Universal pertaining to his movie rights probably played a part in it as well and can only use him in team-ups.

I can get that.

People was mad cuz Marvel didn’t give them what they wanted.... which was another Fight between Hulk and Thanos.

But there was really no point in that. We already see physical strength really isn’t enough to defeat Thanos.

Hulk vs Thanos is nothing more than Cormier vs Jon Jones:mjlol:

He’s one of the few Marvel characters that doesn’t really have a place in their universe right now. There’s no looming threat that he’s needed for, he can’t get his own solo movie and I’m not even sure he can get a Disney+ TV or show up on She-Hulks show. So what do they even do with the character?

It seems like the arm thing was a way for them to nerf his character and give them an excuse to sideline him and make him more of a background character.

I didn’t watch it in theaters until weeks later, so I didn’t know how people reacted to it when it first happened.

I seen it at the first showing opening day and yeah....people were crying.

Keep it mind it was never a foregone conclusion The Snap would happen. If you assumed it would, cool, but I was actually in the parking lot before the movie arguing with my homeboy I've known 30 years. I honestly didn't think they'd go there.

When Thor came through with Stormbreaker you would've swore it was the god damned Superbowl. Crowd went nuts.

Thanos: "You should've gone for the head" *SNAP*

Me: :gucci: "OH shyt!"

After that you could've dropped a pin and heard it. Whole crowd was :lupe: status.

Once people started fading away the crowd was a mix between :mindblown: and :mjcry:
Most people didn't know they already had movies lined up post-"Infinity War". Aside from "Endgame", I mean. People was in the lobby afterwards like :mjtf: "how the fukk they just kill Black Panther when his movie did $1 billy?!"

So yeah it's easy to sit back like :childplease: "I knew everyone was coming back" but #1 nobody was thinking about that in real time and #2 you gotta remember the average movie goer ain't plugged in like us. They don't follow movie info closely, and most never read the OG comics.

Movie fatigue is a myth. People usually love their shyt forever. It's just the audience that loves it eventually's gets old and dies/stops seeing movies in big numbers.

That's what happened with westerns. Nobody grew up loving it, then suddenly on their 35th birthday decided not to watch them anymore. The people that enjoyed them are 80+ now and no longer go out like that.

That will happen to comicbooks movies eventually, but the median audience is still in the 20's to 40s range. They got at least another 20 years.
Also, fatigue is not enough. You have to replace it with something else. Comic book movies offer the perfect mix of story and action and many are stories never told on the movie screen. The way Hollywood is going they are not willing to even take a chance on something new and different so it will be hard to beat unless a studio has a lot of balls/conviction.
