How many push-ups in one sitting is impressive?

proper form, 3 seconds up, 3 seconds down, tight core, elbows bending at correct angle:

20 is impressive

normal human push up form (shytty)

75 is impressive

50 without stoping for a male and 40 for a female is impressive.now if you are an athlete than add 15 to both.

I can do 50 clean with good form but to get to 60 it starts looking sluggish

I used to be able to do 50..now like 38 or some shyt..proper form isn't 3 seconds up or 3 seconds down..it's just all the way up and all the way down no matter how fast you do it..

Controlled tempo most definitely is a requirement for proper form, the push up is supposed to be a muscle building activity not a cardio workout. The moment you start rushing it is the moment your core starts losing tightness and your spine angle is fukked up and you flare your arms out. And a slow descent will stimulate your muscles more than a quick drop.

Not necessarily 3 seconds both ways, that was just my example for what would be required for 20 to be impressive.
