Been there twice. This is my favorite photo...and I can't remember who it is.

Anyone know how she is:

I’ve been. I haven’t seen everything because it’s a lot to take in in one day. Some of it was very hard to look at and puts into perspective how difficult of an experience we’ve had since we were brought to this country. The Emmit Till exhibit and display that contained the shackles for children being brought over as slaves was especially painful to see. Eventually I plan on going back to experience the rest of it. Overall a great experience and like was previously mentioned a beautiful, spotless building.

Got a email from NMAAHC reference Veteran's Day....
Every day, visitors to NMAAHC explore Double Victory in the General Colin L. Powell Gallery, which conveys a sense of appreciation and respect for the military service of African Americans from the American Revolution to the War on Terror.

Was surprised to see that Colin Powell has a 'gallery' there considering the My Lai & WMD/Iraq lies/mistakes (depending on which way you look at it). I thought those were generally viewed as a stain on the Black American image from an international perspective, and Cheney essentially confirms it by saying Powell can be used to push the lie (or mistake), as he his credibility (as an individual but also a black face) is high enough to withstand taking some negative points/backlash.

How is he generally viewed amongst Black Americans? Also I'm skimming thru his bio (for now, will try to get more in depth later).......if he is viewed as an overwhelming figure, what are the reasons?

(As an aside, just from skimming, I see that Bush announced he'd pick Colin Powell as Sec of State before the 2000 election........was that met with the same 'DEI' backlash that Kamala/Abrams/etc were receiving? :skip: )
