fair enuf...

The pure perfect direction, acting, realism is an easy 10. Is it depressing? Yes. But i watch it again for the absolute flawlessness. Superior film making. And the score is beyond excellence..the main theme that is.

the "i should've saved more" scene at the end stops it from being a perfect film imo.

Spielberg always gets overly sentimental at the end, no matter how dark the movie is. I feel the same way about the "tell me I was a good man" scene in Saving Private Ryan.

That might be nit picking a bit too much, it never crossed me as being forced but i see your point. It doesnt by any means, imo, diminish the superior quality of the overall film. Saving private ryan imo def is more contrived and forced.
