How many “coming of age” white ppl movies can Hollywood keep churning out?

What scenario would you rather have for that genre?

Edit: The only thing that irks me lately is the cliche “made for twitter” content that seems to take precedent some times

Directors n actors crying about Marvel/superhero movies being repetitive, meanwhile they keep putting out tha same contrived coming of age movie/tv show with old pop hits in the trailer. Like dog, how many times we gotta see some young white dude in Average White Town, USA going to school, meeting a girl, fight with his parents, cry in the rain?!

Breh, this is nothing new and can be applied to any other genre as well. The wheel in Hollywood will keep spinning regardless, it is an industry at the end of the day. I’m not that pressed about it if the end product is enjoyable.

I think the worst niche genre that has emerged is that terminally ill romance movie. one member of the couple escapes their hospital/in home living care and has the time of their life with some model-esque teen of the opposite sex. their love overcomes all even if its only temporary

My daughter loves these movies. It's the same shyt over and over again. I'm like didn't you already watch that?

This is why I think criticism about stuff like Hunger Games ripping off Battle Royale and Get Out ripping off Skeleton Key are weird. People will watch endless iterations of the same mafia, war, and coming of age story, but will harp on how a sci-fi/fantasy/horror ripped off another's idea.
