...would you guys prefer in the WWE and which titles would you choose to have if you were starting from scratch?
You don't even have to split it up by brand (Raw/Smackdown) if you don't want to.
As a whole, I liked the belt systems that the WWF/WCW had set up around the Attitude Era. 3 main titles, Tag titles...I could actually live without the light-heavyweight title though I really cared about the Cruiserweight title.
If I could do it today (especially with Raw being 3 hours):
I'd keep the two top belts (Big Gold for the World Heavyweight Champion) and switch out that awful spinner shyt for the Attitude Big Eagle for the WWE Champion.
In the middle, of course...
I'd actually throw the U.S. title in the bushes
Keep the IC title for people hedging on the main event that don't have the MITB briefcase. Not the classic white version the either: too gimmicky to keep passing around, IMO. Just defend the thing every so often on TV and maybe even have it change hands every few months on PPV in a storyline.
No use in having a U.S. title if they're not even going to defend it on the main PPV card. Cesaro won it on Youtube...
Tag titles remain the same. fukk the copper joints. Bring back the gold.
The big thing I'd add is the WCW Television title...
....for guys w/ flashy ringwork or interesting gimmicks like Ryback, Tyson Kidd, Justin Gabriel, Sandow, R-Truth, Sin Cara, Heath Slater, etc. to build feuds over. Give the crowd chances to see meaningful lower-card feuds & possible triple threat matches on live TV instead of all of these random tag matches. The feuds could also give us a look at if the guys can actually get over. I just remember Benoit/Booker T having an awesome feud over the TV title and before then, I'd only really looked at Booker as a tag wrestler. That feud made me see him as a legit contender on the come-up.
Just leave it at that. How about you all?
