Illmatic. Life is Good is better than any Jay album not named Reasonable Doubt , Vol 1 though. This the Grown album Jay said Kingdome Come was gonna be, and been struggling to make since.

Nas always ahead of jay to me, but now, its not even remotely close, Nas like 4 or 5 spots ahead of jay.

I really don't understand the hate that Illmatic has been receiving lately. I could play that fukking album at any time and get completely lost in it. It's flawless.
Don't get me wrong. Its a great album. My thing is the longevity of that album does no hold up to me. It sounds seriously outdated. It was like that even when it came out(even though the album took 2 years to make and it wasn't Nas fault) It was the same problem that Big L/DITC had. I just can't really rock with that album today as oppose to shyt like ready to die

Yes, these are my two favorite rappers ever. Throw in Marley and some other guys and you have my favorite artists ever. But it's impossible on here. What surprises me most is that people who I always thought were good posters post irrational hyperbole. I've given up. I try to actually have substantive debates and they say "I quit breh" or "moron" or "I stopped reading there." The only discussion on this board happens in the sports forum and higher learning. I forgot where I was at. Don't waste your time.
