Thursday Night Football is exclusively on Prime Video now starting tonight

so it got me thinking how long until we see WWE/AEW weekly shows exclusive to streaming since services want live content? :jbhmm:

Nick Khan said if Netflix implemented LIVE tv its possible RAW and so on could end up on there

It would have to take a blank check from Bezos (or whoever's the boss for the streaming company of choice) for WWE (and even AEW) to make the move to only streaming :pachaha:

Doesn't a lot of revenue come from advertising? Wouldn't you lose all of that by going streaming exclusive? I don't see it ever happening if that's the case.

WWE Network couldn't crack 2 million subs a year if I recall correctly and that's way less than their network deals unless you charge unless you charge something absurd like $35 a month.

I think idea of streaming is whoever the provider is will cover ad revenue cost with deal they provide. Plus, you can still implement ads in streams. However I think most wrestling fans prefer to watch on TV, so might be a tough sell. However, it wouldn't surprise me if AEW or WWE make a major show for a streaming service. I think for Rampage they should try and cut a streaming deal for it and air it live.

It won’t until streaming overtakes live tv as the most common way people watch tv. I would say 15-20 years. However, I think by that time, the streaming services would have merged and we would get something like a Hulu 3.0 anyway so it wouldn’t make a difference

Streaming eclipsed cable tv last month. I may be remembering the time period wrong, might be last quarter or something else, but it definitely happened this year for the first time ever.
