bro...the thread is about why arent some nfl players super swole...
...the reason is that there is no reason for it other than vanity...
...my point is most men dont care about being sexy...is just a byproduct of being an athlete.

I got into the whole gay thing because hetero men for the most part see no reason to spend hours and hours focusing on vanity w/ no financial gain...
...thats time better spent making money.
So most dudes in the gym a lot are gay?

Yes, we are completely off topic, but...

Men, hetero and homo, spend hours focused on vanity w/ no financial gain. However, This is where I agree with you to an extent; women and gay men value different aspects of a man. Men are visuals, women emotional (these are generalization). Women and gay men are more inclined to upkeep their appearance to attract men. Where as a straight man wouldn’t desire that, thus slightly less incline to maintain their body. With that said, I do not believe body building is a gay sport. That statement undermines the fact that it’s a hobby and interest of many. Also, I get annoyed with sexual orientation being infused into interest and hobbies, from both hetero and homo; i.e “that’s gay” “this is gay”. It takes away from the actually intricacies of activity and deters and limits participation.

Not saying most dudes are gay...
...but lets say gay men are 5% of the population...
...I would bet gay men in the gym are about 15% of the population.

Im not saying BB is a gay sport...
...just that, it attracts a large percentage of gay men.

I brought it up because OP is confused as to why not all pro athletes dont have that BB look...
...its because they are athletes, and dont care about how they look...
...traditionally men never cared about how they looked to the point where they are self conscious about their appearance.

This is a new internet age phenomenon...
...young guys spend so much time on the internet watching these fitness channels, and its low key turning them into women.

well lets be honest aesthetics and functional strength are completely different...Typically more strength = a bigger muscle. Trouble is most of us relate being swole to also having a low bodyfat percentage along with good muscle mass....Walking around at legitimate under 10% body fat isn't really healthy especially in a contact sport....

We can't compare functional performance to aesthetics. Functional performance includes conditioning and strength relative to size.

Now to the point Baker Mayfield really doesn't need to be a physical specimen no QB does...They are more so skill based I wouldn't expect them to look as good as what I would expect a WR/CB to look...And RB's and LBs are whom I would always assume would be the most in shape sometimes even they don't look like you would assume.

Could Cam Newton or Jamies be in better shape of course would it really have much of an affect on the field maybe not...I'd think Cam would be open to more injury if he was lighter. But you are on to something a lot of Football players don't look good but they do tend to have great conditioning for their size and strength/speed in relation to their size.

I don't think I have ever seen a QB that was in the type of shape of a bodybuilder/sprinter.
Cam's physique is solid and aesthetic. He has a track star physique. He's lean and long, but solid.

brother I don’t want to disagree with you for no reason but please understand I’m using an extreme form of body modification (bodybuilding/fitness modeling) as the base for determining aesthetics.

basically as someone told me if you aren’t show ready or photo ready at all times you are fat. Unrealistic even with PEDs I know. Also looking aesthetically pleasing and fitness are two different things. Cam just for general fitness reasons likely is very rarely under 12% body fat.

look at a picture of someone like Simeon Panda vs Killa Cam. Even at Cams best he is lean but not as striated and muscle bellies aren’t as developed pause :sadcam:

I don't know bro. While healthy eating and dieting and cross fit is popular nowadays, BodyBuilding and the classic California physique was hugely popular in the 1970's. Maybe it was regional, but you see hella pics of brothers out in California from the 1970's and they're all on swole. And those brothers were super masculine and hetero. Being obsessed with self look has been important for men, going back to the days before Christ. All those Greek statues of men with perfect physiques. And even if the man isn't obsessive about his physique, there are still masculine men who are neurotic about their outfits and clothes and jewels and general upkeep. This is how it's always been. Men who don't put any effort into how they look have always been at a disadvantage.

Yep. Compared to Simeon Panda, Cam and 99% of us are average.

Bro the Greeks were into some extremely gay shyt back then.

Them cats in the 70s worked out and kept it pushing...
...not on some obsessive weirdo shyt.
Guys wanted to be strong...period.

And back then BB was extremely niched down...wasnt popular at all...nobody even thought about till Arnold came around.
...now you have a high percentage of cats on gear for no reason other than being self conscious.

Youre telling me someone like Zyzz is normal?

The term "metrosexual" came into play because of the new trend of some men being neurotic about their looks...
...its a turn off to women.

It's competion. Who has the bigger traps, bigger lats, bigger calves, it's just male competion. Nothing gay about it. Like any other competative hobby that turns into an obsession and compulsive addiction. There may be no rhyme or reason to you, but that's how hobbies usually go. The outside person doesn't get it, and thinks there's other motivations.

I'm looking at Baker Mayfield on Get Up right now and I'm more swole than he is. I've noticed that with some other NFL players. Those dudes should all be swole since they have access to the best trainers and nutritionists. Some of y'all are a lot more swole than some NFL players and I'm not talking about kickers and punters.
You can't be this dense (well, you've proven you can be, but still). :snoop:

It’s true though a lot of regular people are “swoler” than football players...that doesn’t mean in better shape at all...I’d venture to say it’s easier for a regular person to look in great shape than it is for a football players (outside of wr/ dB, rb/lb)
