I always looked at SV as a musical exercise for dilla to give himself a realm to actually rhyme....virtually completing his hip hop musical cypher.....like a garage band for song writers.... Only diff is jd was so talented a producer their small little group thing actually gained national exposure......but IMO it always would have stayed on the back burner for Dilla .

They were fukking dope. It wasn't all about lyrics but whatever they were doing they presented it well. The albums were supberly produced and thought out. They brought that Motown, Detroit duwop heritage to rap. They actually rapped like a group meaning three part harmonies and melodies again that Motown influence. J Dilla posthumous dikk slurping aside they deserve some credit
