It even surprises me why nikkas don’t start their own sneaker companies. There is definitely a demand for it within the community. Michael Jordan net worth is two billion yet Nike makes three billion.........a year from Air Jordan’s. Somebody please help me make sense of this.:mindblown: Why not just branch out and start our own shyt, instead of partnering with some cac company that only breaks you a piece. Why don’t Jordan, Diddy and Jay Z or something team up. Age old myth that we can’t eat without a morherfukking cracker been at the head of the table.
Rappers come out with sneakers and flop all the time

Not everyone wants to run their own company it’s a lot of work some would just rather get the check with less headache

So let someone else profit of your talent and brand? Ok that makes sense, Jordan apparently makes 100 mil a year from his endorsement with Nike will they make 3 billion from Air Jordan’s annually.

Jordan has a partnership which is smart and his brand has greatly benefited from Nikes r&d

To foot those bills with his own company on a regular basis would be tough. He gets to use Nikes research arm heavily. Their manufacturing network etc. Hence why the shoes stay sought after.

Have you seen the joints these stand alone brands make? Usually the design takes a heavy hit and they cannot churn out new models very easily. It's not just enough to say you own something when it looks like big baller (generic) brand. The lasting power of his brand should tell you that.

Nike spends more on marketing than adidas makes or it did for majority of their history. You not competing with that on the outside unless you cool with being a boutique product.

Start your own sneaker company but how will you afford to keep designing new products and contracting their production. That takes big money. A start up would be trying to push a limited amount of models for a long long time before jumping into new designs because of research and manufacturing costs. You can't wittle down what Jordan gets from Nike to some CAC breaking him off unless you know nothing about it. Nobody has the Jordan Brand partnership and nobody prob ever will again.
