How has Star been able to get away with disrespecting Black people for so long?

A lot of times Star will take the opposite stance of Twitter and the media just to push back on the callers and co-hosts and keep the show interesting. Then he'll take the exact opposite stance the following week. People that listen to the show know not to take him seriously.

.
It's refreshing to come across someone who actually understands shyt and has comprehension skills, lol, I be feeling like an alien sometimes. This shyt is clear to anyone intelligent that listens to him. Joe Buddens does that shyt too, he isn't as seasoned of a troll as Star is tho so it doesn't come off as genuine, lol.

How do you know that?
I don’t for sure but it’s the only reason. Or he has mad servility 24/7. He might not be as hot now a days but there’s no way Star been talking greasy like that for 20 years and you never heard a story of him getting touched.

No way he was out at parties and events and all that back in the day

He was called out a lot back in the 90's, when he was at his peak on Hot 97 and doing his magazine shyt with Buckwild. A lot of rappers would get the cops called on them when they tried to confront him at the station or in public. He used to always apologize and say he wanted to be like Howard Stern. Stern even had him on his show and he was sucking dude off. That's his hero.

But Hip Hop isn't into the shock-jock thing. He's not Stern. So he kept losing out on business opportunities because people didn't want to fukk with him. They pretty much ran him out of the city. That's when he started popping up online dissing everybody, lol. He's a bum. Always been a self-hater and corny. He'll do and say anything for a reaction, but also never really cared about the community or using his platform to help uplift anyone but himself.

Uh he was on Power 105.1 until DJ Envy baited him into talking crazy on the radio. Star said he wanted to do some crazy shyt to Envy's daughter or something on air. And they snitched, acting like the threat was serious and Clear Channel/Power felt the heat and dropped him. The ratings for his show were good and Charlemagne picked up where he left off so Hip Hop doesn't really have a problem with shock jock antics actually.

I remember that! The thing with Envy's daughter was going way too far. She was like 4 years old.

Charlemagne was basically doing what he learned from Wendy Williams, according to him. But he never went as far out there with certain comments, like Star would. Star would be up there saying things like he would "slap the black off of" this rapper and that rapper. Or saying that he would take dude's girlfriends and wives from them, or sexually abuse their children. But when they came to the station to see him, he would call the cops or security on them. His whole platform is to be disrespectful. Charlemagne was doing the gossip news thing. That's mostly harmless. Star was taking it to levels that were straight disrespectful to both the community and people's families. And that's what ultimately did him in.

His first response to Ebro getting at him the other day was, verbatim..

"The opinion of a ni**er will never matter to me"... with the super hard "er" at the end

:russ: Star is nuts. The only thing I'd say tho is that he disrespects everybody, have you heard some of the shyt he's said about Hispanics? Italians? Brutal.
that makes it okay for hin to throw hard rs??

Thank you for saving me time typing. Brehs in here will play destructive music, watch trash like love and hip hop but Star, who’s obviously being facetious, is where they draw the line?:mindblown:

I mean just look at the front page of the booth. Half of the artists being discussed are far more problematic than Star.

Everyone should be held accountable for their actions and words. Rappers and radio jockeys alike.

Difference with music and even film, is that those things are all fictional. It's artistic expression, meant for entertainment purposes at no cost to the listener or viewer, as it's optional. But if you're on a record saying you're going to run up on someone specific and shoot their moms or child, then we're talking about plain disrespect. Major difference. These rappers can say whatever they want about being huge drug dealers and killers, but they're not directing those things at people specifically. They're general statements. When they stop being general, we all know, that's when it becomes a problem.

When you go as far as telling another man that you're going to rape his child, that is in no way comparable to made up tales these rappers come up with for their records. I don’t think anyone would see that as a "joke" when it's directly aimed at them and their family. I don’t know anyone that would shrug that off. There's a line.
