I didn't start lifting until I got incarcerated and its a lifestyle in there for most people, yea you have the guys who dont lift and the guys who lift every now and then, and the guys who will lift while its warm outside and once it gets cold they won't go back and lift until it gets back cold.

But lifting inside the joint takes alot of stress away and also will keep other prisoners off you 97% of the time,a guy is less likely to get bullied if he is big and strong or either of the two, word travels about who is weak and who is strong in the joint, you don't necessarily need to be big or strong to be left alone but unless you got a helluva reputation proving your toughness you better get yo ass in that weight pit.

Guys would ride in and prisoners would size them up all the time, pointing out which ones they thought was soft or who they were gonna Rob,and also the guys they thought would be a challenge if they decided to step to them.

I remenber once when some guys rode in,and as usual guys were sizing them up and what not and I'll never forget this one guy who went by the nickname Row,he was about 5'8 225 pounds super solid, and when guys rode in guys always talk shyt, because that's just what they do from afar,it could be Brock lesnar getting off that bus and guys will still talk shyt, but the thing is will they still talk that shyt once you get ON the yard.

So Row goes and gets situated and what not,and the next day he comes on the yard and guys are looking at him to see what he's about far as the pit, now obviously he's strong because he's wide as a fridgerator,he goes to the flat and warms up then bits 225 43 times, then hits 435 for one rep, so right there guys were looking like :whoa::leon::merchant:

He then goes and squats 315 for 22 reps and one reps 440

And goes and deadlifts 545

And Row was a legend from there til he was reeasedt a few years later.

But right there it told me that if you strong and carry yourself with a confidence NOBODY gonna fukk with you in there and that's what made me start working out.

But it saved me because it kept me outta trouble, because you gotta stay outta trouble to lift, and it taught me self discipline far as taking care of my body, but it also saved my life in a way because I didn't have any problems after my first year once I started getting stronger and putting on weight.

Lotta guys get bullied in there and it fukks with they mental, but it's every man for themselves and my advice go guys who were new was to lift and eat man.

Thats something I always wondered about:
If youre in prison, are you getting enough food ? I mean when I think of prison I think of very sparse meals & shyt so its always :ohhh: for me to see some guys becoming real beasts in there. If I look at myself, since I changed up my nutrition I eat like crazy (I always used to eat pretty much but now its even more, to be fair I'm also working out pretty intense + doing some cardio regularly on top of sometimes basketball & shyt) and I'm feeling horrible if I dont get enough food so it must be pretty hard getting all your protein & shyt in while in prison.
Can you shed some light on this, always wondered about that...?

Yea I mean the three meals a day they give you equal up to about 2,500 calories a day,but alot of it is garbage and taste like shyt, but you have the option of getting commissary, where you can buy things like chips, pops, candy, honey buns, noodles, and protein based things like tuna, fish, refried beans, powder milk, peanut butter, etc.

So it is possible to grow, you just have to find a way to get protein, alot of guys steal milks and drink a couple of them a day.

But honestly the fitness community and these fitness gurus are liars and have brainwashed people, because you don't need a ton of protein to grow,I seen guys eat shyt all day and grow like crazy, because another lie the fitness community and fitness gurus have also made up is that overtraining is bad, NO overtraining is how you grow, why do you think alot of prisoners get so big? We overtrain all the time,we super set everything,no imagine going reps of 15-20 for a whole 2 hour workout and throwing supersets in there, man that's over 200-300 reps on just that one body part that day, some guys will work arms for a whole week, chest for a whole week, etc and within a year they are huge, being in prison showed me that overtraining is great and you don't need a ton of protein to grow,if you can get as much protein as you can,but if not don't worry about it.

That's why I never drink protein shakes or nothing,I eat relatively clean and go hard in the gym and grow.

Find out what works for you, because if some of these prisoners were to come home and really took the time to do YouTube videos and all that man you'd never hear of the mike rashids,Chris Jones, etc, they'd run circles around those guys

Interesting information thanks breh :salute:
I'm especially feeling that part with the protein shake, I also never drink them because I get lots of protein through my nutrition so theres no need to waste money on that.
Funniest thing is always those guys at the gym who think you can only build any muscles if you drink a shake right after the workout :snoop::pachaha:

Don't Believe the Hype
man, I moved to LA in 2014 to follow this entertainment sh*t. I got here weighing like 340 lbs. I'm down to 285. Trying to lose another 65 lbs, ideally. Thing is: it's tough out here, so, even when the music sh*t ain't going the way I want, or the girl thing isn't poppin', I feel accomplished when I hit the gym at least 20 times per month.

Have to dust off this thread again since I just had a, conversation with an homie bout drinking when we drove to school and damn just from talkin bout some of these situations in the past I'm real glad I started lifting and quit drinking.
Its also an honest warning from me, this shyt can get pretty out of hand very quickly. I'm just 18 years old but been drinkin HEAVILY since i was 13. rock bottom was when i was 16 had two near fatal situations with alcohol....
Especially dangerous bout it is the aspect of your environment, during this time a lot of things were just terrible in my life so the drinking got even more out of hand...
Just a lil reminder of how bad this shyt can fukk you up, but also how something like lifting can really save your ass...:wow:
